As GPU clusters continue to scale up and out to meet demand, optics plays a unique, multi-faceted role in these future systems by enabling power and cost-efficient interconnects, bandwidth steering and compute functionality. This talk will review NVIDIA's efforts to realize these opportunities and work through challenges for our future systems.
After finishing his PhD on laser integration for silicon photonics at Ghent University in 2014, Yannick joined Luxtera in San Diego, CA where he was responsible for active and passive device design. In 2018 Yannick joined imec in Leuven, Belgium where he worked on different kinds of laser integration approaches for silicon photonics and led one of the device design teams. In 2021 Yannick joined nvidia where he now works on silicon photonics based transceivers for the next generation of AI datacenter networking products.
